Christmas Movies

Christmas was one of Dad’s favorite times. So we have home movies of many. Hanging of the stockings, coming down the stairs in the morning, and opening presents under the Christmas Tree were a record of the growing family. Dammy and Grandad were early regulars, and Mom’s sisters (Katie and Alice Jean) and brother (Johnny) show up, too.

I have tried to identify and pull out clips from the annual Christmas scenes. Where I could I added titles to identify the date. The first is in 1949 at our home on Grace Street in Chicago. The last is around 1965. Some the clips have been slowed down to make them easier to get a look at. I have color corrected some of the degraded old film.

Some of Dad’s 1998 Christmas Show plays under the film. Obviously no attempt to match up the show to the film. Merry Christmas.

The first part goes from 1949, Mom with baby Pat in arms at Thanksgiving dinner at. home on Grace St in Chicago. Includes time at 1424 and ends with 1955 in “The Mal Bellairs House” in Wilmette.

Part 2 has some more from the early fifties on Wilmette Ave and ends with 1958 Christmas on Lake St.
